“For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been creating…”

A professional painter based in Quebec City, Hugo Landry has been drawn to abstract and contemporary art for over 15 years. The artist primarily works with a palette knife, favoring acrylic paint, and prefers canvas and wood as his main surfaces.

Through a vibrant explosion of color, his paintings convey joy in all its forms. The texture is rich and generous—sometimes expressed through broad vertical stripes, other times through multicolored drippings.

Discipline and the pursuit of balance are at the core of his artistic approach. He rarely knows what shape a painting will ultimately take. This element of risk, unpredictability, and spontaneity gives his work a unique meaning.
